As the largest family-owned removals and storage company in the UK, Bishop's Move are thrilled that our Donate and Declutter scheme has raised over £100,000 for our partner charity, Sense.
This brings the total raised by our charitable work, both for Sense and other local charities, this year to just over £187,000!
Sense helps and supports everyone living with complex disabilities, to help people communicate and experience the world. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential - and so do Bishop's Move.
Moving home can be an extremely busy time for our customers, but it can also be a great opportunity to declutter, especially if downsizing, and a fantastic opportunity to help people in their community.
Through our Declutter and Donate scheme, we provide our customer with an easy way to set aside any no longer required items of furniture, electrical goods and clothing, which we then collect on move day. These items are then delivered to Sense shops up and down the country to sell on and raise much needed funds for Sense's personalised support for people living with complex disabilities.
Bishop's Move's Managing Director, Alistair Bingle said, “We are thankful to all our customers for taking part in our Declutter and Donate scheme and helping to raise so much money for Sense. It is lovely to see that the simple action of donating a few unwanted items when moving home can result in helping such a worthwhile charity as Sense to provide their personalised support to so many families and individuals across the country.”
