Bishop’s Move, the UK’s largest family owned removals and storage company, has joined forces with PHS Teacrate to assist with the relocation across London of the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (NAPAC). The move, which took place over the course of two days from the 24th-25th August, saw the charity relocate from Brixton Road, SW9, to its new premises at Lambs Passage, Bunhill Row, London, EC1. This move will enable NAPAC to fulfil its restructuring objectives as it aims to ensure a more sustainable future.
Bishop’s Move is no stranger to caring for the community and assisting with good causes. By working with its partner, PHS Teacrate, who supplied its crates free of charge to help with the packing element of the move, it empowered both parties to come together to help highlight the work done by NAPAC.
Amanda Walker, Administration Manager at Bishop’s Move whose expertise covers commercial moves, is also a volunteer at NAPAC and assisted with the initial introductions. Amanda completed four weekends’ worth of training at the charity throughout May and June before 'shadowing' staff members and other, more experienced volunteers to see how they handle the support telephone line. “I have only been volunteering for such a short time but many of the amazing volunteers have been giving up their time to help for years. It is very humbling and they are simply the most amazing people I have met,” says Amanda.
The move involved the relocation of 10 office personnel and saw the team of Bishop’s Move removal men handle personnel files, IT equipment, company files, desks and personal items belonging to members of the NAPAC team.
Chris Marshall, Bishop’s Move Sales & Marketing Director, comments: “At Bishop’s Move we are firmly in the business of supporting good causes and the communities in which we operate. NAPAC does some fantastic work and it has been an absolute pleasure to assist the charity with its relocation as it starts a new chapter across London. We wish them every success in its new home in Lambs Passage.”
Gabrielle Shaw, Chief Executive at NAPAC, adds: “From the initial introductions right up until the final day, we have been extremely impressed with the quality and professionalism of both Bishop’s Move and PHS Teacrate. We are very appreciative of the goodwill shown by both parties towards NAPAC which, in turn, has greatly assisted with our office relocation. This moves signals a milestone for us and the move could not have gone any more smoothly. We look forward to starting life in our new home and, as ever, providing sensitive and tailored support to those who need it.”
