Bishop’s Move to attend the 2015 Cart Marking CeremonyBishop’s Move to attend the 2015 Cart Marking Ceremony
15 Jul 2015

On the 15th July, Bishop’s Move’s historic 1 tonne commercial removals van will be attending the historic Cart Marking Ceremony at the Guildhall Yard in the City of London. This annual event sees carters’ vehicles throughout the ages being presented for inspection by the Master of the Carmen and branded by the Keeper of the Guildhall with a brazier and gloves supplied by the Glovers’ Company. This year the event will be attended by the Lord Mayor of London.
Our vintage Morris removal van dates back to 1928 and is driven by Roger Bishop (retired Chair of Bishop’s Move and 5th generation of family owners). It will be branded with a date stamp to confirm that the vehicle is in a fit condition and gives them a licence to operate within the City limits, an early form of MOT.
The event is one of the top 3 events in the City of London and, since being open to the public, has raised of £150,000 for charity.
