Sunday the 7th June, 2015, saw various "Big Lunches" taking place all around the UK and Bishop's Move Edinburgh had a great day taking part in the one at Sainsbury's in Dalkeith, Scotland.
Our removals and storage branch in Edinburgh donated £250 towards the cost of the food eaten and one of our removal vans was used as a fun activity for the visiting children. Kids of all ages had great fun navigating their way through the van's obstacle course of boxes, ably assisted by 3 members of Bishop's Move staff who had volunteered their free time to help at this community event. A fun day was had by all.
The Big Lunch was initiated by the Eden Project with the aim to get as many people as possible across the whole of the UK to have lunch with their neighbours annually on the first Sunday in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun. Since starting in 2009, thousands of Big Lunches have taken place in all types of communities. In 2014, 4.83 million people took to their streets, gardens and community spaces for the sixth annual Big Lunch.
