On Wednesday, 12th July, 2017, Bishop’s Move proudly took part in te 2017 Cart Marking Ceremony at the Guildhall, in the City of London. This annual event is an ancient tradition, dating back to 1681, when it was agreed that all licensed vehicles should be marked with the City’s arms on the shafts and numbered on a brass plate.
Roger Bishop, presented the company’s 1928 bullnose morris removals van for marking by the Keeper of Guildhall, using a special brazier and gloves provided by the Glovers’ Company, the Lord Mayor, and the Master Carman.
This year was a particular special event for the Worshipful Company of Carmen, as the livery club has been celebrating it’s 500th anniversary. Here are just a few of the wonderful entries:
