Stars of Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club joined forces with Bishop’s Move Exeter in December to ensure a smooth house move for a colleague. Sireli Naqelevuki, the Exeter Chiefs Centre and Fiji international and his team-mate Jason Shoemark from New Zealand, came together to help the Bishop’s Move Exeter removal men oversee the relocation of former Chiefs lock, Chris Bentley and his family.
Chris Bentley, who has since signed for Division Two’s Exmouth RFC but remains on the Exeter Chiefs Commercial Team, was assisted by his former team-mates who helped the Bishop’s Move removal men load and unload boxes on to the removal company’s truck from Exeter to the Bentley family’s new home five miles down the road in Cranbrook, East Devon.
The Bishop’s Move Exeter branch is a long-time supporter of the Exeter Chiefs. The company has sponsored Sireli for the past three years and Jason for the past two. The company also previously sponsored former Chiefs prop, Ruaidhri Murphy.
Part of the relocation was filmed and the rugby stars put their removal skills to the test by handling windows onto the vehicles.
Eddy Hall, Bishop’s Move Exeter General Manager, comments: "We are committed to backing the Exeter Chiefs. It has been a long and fruitful relationship for many years. I would like to thank Sireli and Jason for giving up their time to come and help Chris move home. I can certainly see a career in removals for them both when their rugby playing careers come to an end. On a serious note, I wish Chris and his family well in their new home and wish them all the best for the future."
Chris Bentley comments: "From the first consultation with Eddy through to the move the guys at Bishop’s Move were fantastic. It felt like I was getting helped by pals than a business such was the friendly and efficient approach of the whole team. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bishop’s Move and have already had my recommendation taken up by a former neighbour and close friend."
