Q. How soon should a removals company be involved in an employee's relocation?
A. As soon as possible. Bishop's Move offer all of our corporate clients comprehensive employee relocation services, including destination and origin services such as sourcing schools and orientation sessions for your employee's family or other staff. It is best to contact a removals company at least 4-6 weeks prior to the removal - and remember that June to September are always the busiest moving times, so need more preparation for.
Q. What happens next?
A. Ideally 2-3 weeks prior to the move date a professional from Bishop's Move will visit your employee to discuss their move and their needs, as well as perform a home survey or video survey to ensure that all their packing and removal requirements are being considered. If the employee is relocating from overseas, an approved agent will visit them instead.

Q. What happens on Moving Day
A. Your removals team are all checked with the Criminal Records Bureau and they are also professional trained in packing and art handling. If your employee is relocating to another country, their possessions will need export packing and bespoke crating. They will arrive at the appointed time, to pack and then transport your employee's possessions in the removals van(s).
All of our packing materials have been manufactured especially for removals and our fleet of vehicles have been specifically adapted for relocation usage, plus they are all satellite tracked and fully insured.
Depending on the size of the move, moving day could take 1-3 days. If you are relocating your employee overseas, you will need to allow for a 6-12 week shipping schedule - dependent on the country of destination.
Q. Is the employee's move insured?

Q. What items cannot be taken on a removals van?
A. Any flammable or combustible items cannot be transported in the moving van due to their hazardous nature. This include batteries (car and household), bleach, chemicals, fireworks, fuels (such as kerosene or propane), pesticides, etc. Ask your corporate account handler for more detailed information on these and our recommendations.
Q. Can plants be moved in the van?
A. It is not advisable to transport plants for long distances in a removals van, but for local moves it is fine. However, plant pots can be heavy and these should be pointed out to the moving consultant during your employee's home survey as specialist equipment maybe required. Q. Can storage be arranged?
A. Yes. All of Bishop's Move local removals and storage branches provide secure warehouse facilities for long or short term storage. We can also arrange storage for overseas shipments. Just ask your accounts handler further storage information.
