December and January has seen Bishop's Move's Business Relocation team putting in some hard graft at RHS Wisley, Surrey. Not in their beautiful gardens, but in their historic Garden Library, carefully relocating its world-leading scientific research, gardening advice and books for children to their new home at RHS Hilltop - the Home of Gardening Science.
RHS Hilltop will not only house the current Wisley Library, but it will feature an enhanced collection with more the 21,000 books and 20,000 nursery catalogues so that it is an improved resource for researchers, students, members and gardeners. Over £1 million has been donated by RHS members to enable this Strategic Investment Programme and it will soon be opening it's doors to its eagerly awaiting visitors.
Our dedicated Business Relocation teams have been on site providing professional porterage and move management services for this carefully orchestrated library relocation between the two buildings. This involved various pre-planning and site visits by our project management consultants to ensure that our experienced packers could skilfully handle, wrap, pack and move books, documents, pamphlets, plans, catalogues, maps and other research artefacts. This planning phase was particularly important as extra safety procedures had to be put in place due to the current pandemic.
Such was the due diligence of our planning, that even the snow did not get in our way!
