22 Apr 2013
Today, the 22nd April, 2013 is Earth Day. It is expected that over one billion people in 192 countries, from London to Babylon City, Seoul to Sao Paolo, New Delhi to New York, Rome to Cairo, will be taking action in their communities and helping raise awareness of The Face of Climate Change.
But how can you help the Earth when moving house?
Easy - use a reputable removals and storage company that operates a viable Environmental Policy.
Bishop's Move are not new to the "Green Way" of doing business, we have been actively working towards a greener business ethos for over 155 years. We have a dedicated Environmental Policy that is considered at every stage of our day-to-day operations as removers, warehousemen, shippers, packers, general hauliers, distributors, freight-forwarders, property owners and landlords.
Here are a few of the things that we do, as a removals company, to make your house move as green as possible:
Transport
Fuel Efficiency
Staff
Suppliers
Recycling Schemes
Carbon Balancing
There are lots of fun things to look out for today too - such as an "Eco-style" Earth Day Flash Mob (a variation of the popular song "Gagnam Style"), in Seoul, South Korea. In Argentina, volunteers from the Surfrider Foundations are cleaning up the local beaches, whilst Tortugas Fundacion Yepez is mobilizing volunteers in Veracruz, Mexico, to protect the habitat of sea turtles by cleaning up their local beaches and organizing a reforestation campaign. And in Copenhagen, Denmark—as well as in six other cities on five continents—the Danish Cultural Institute is organizing its annual CO 2 Green Drive Project in honor of Earth Day. Runners, walkers, bikers, and skaters are using their cities as canvasses to spell “CO 2“ with GPS devices.
Happy Earth Day everyone.
