It's one of the busiest times of the year to be moving house, so to help keep the kids entertained between all the planning & packing, we've put together this list of top family things to do this bank holiday weekend.
Enjoy the Outdoors
The bank holiday offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and take advantage of the predicted good weather. There are plenty of activities that you can enjoy outdoors and most of them won’t even break the bank. If you’re looking to get outdoors this bank holiday, then why not try one of these;
Brighton Beach - Head down to one of Britain’s most loved coastal resorts this bank holiday and catch some rays on the beach. There’s plenty to see and do in Brighton with amusements and fairground rides on Brighton Pier. There’s also a new attraction with the opening of a new 450 feet viewing platform- BA i360 is the world’s first vertical cable car. There’s always plenty going on in and around The Lanes too, so why not pay a visit this weekend.
Can’t get to the coast? - If you can’t make it down to the coast but still want to make the most of the weather, then why not head to Beach East in London. Set in the grounds of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it is the largest urban beach in the UK by far. Enjoy all the festivities of the coast without having to leave the capital, with fairground rides, food stalls and even 2 huge paddling pools. You could also catch some rays by basking in one of the many London parks for free.
Indoor Activities
As you can never guarantee the weather in the UK, it’s always good to think about something that you can do indoors. Although this can often involve plenty of expensive activities and days out, there is still plenty to do with the family that won’t break the bank.
Take a museum trip - With so many great museums on our doorstep, it’s almost a crime not to pay a visit once in a while. There are plenty of great museums in London that are great fun for all the family. The best part about it is that many of the best London museums offer free entry. The Science Museum has some great space related events on over the bank holiday weekend that the kids are sure to enjoy.
Be adventurous - If you’re looking to splash out a bit this bank holiday, then why not take the family to The Making of Harry Potter studios tour. One of the most popular attractions at the moment, the studio in London offers a fantastic day out this bank holiday. There are plenty of other attractions across the UK such as Madame Tussauds, Warwick Castle and the Sea Life Centres that are all indoors. What’s more, you can cut the costs of plenty of these attractions with ‘Grown-Ups Go Free’ vouchers.
Don’t fancy these ideas?
There’s plenty more to do across the bank holiday weekend no matter what your interests. Why not take in some of the sights and visit Buckingham Palace with the family. Or take a picnic to your local park and make a day of it. No matter what you decide to do this bank holiday, there’s nothing more important than spending time with your family.
