Bishop’s Move Oxford, part of the Bishop’s Move Group is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring an Oxfordshire-based school’s minibus. For the next three years, Springfield Special Needs School, based in Witney, will have its vehicle donned in Bishop’s Move’s recognisable yellow, blue and red colours as the company also commits to contributing £2,000 each year towards the maintenance and fuel of the minibus.
There is also a personal connection between the two parties; the autistic son of Angus Mackintosh, a HGV driver at Bishop’s Move Oxford, currently attends Springfield, and Angus later this year will complete a skydive - sponsored by Bishop’s Move - to help raise further money for the school.
On Friday April 17th, representatives from both Bishop’s Move and Springfield School were joined by the Mayor of Witney, local councillors - including parliamentary candidates - and a number of parents for the official unveiling of the vehicle.
Bishop’s Move is no stranger to supporting the local communities in which it operates. Through its specialist ‘de-clutter service’, the company’s Edinburgh, York, Crawley, and Oxford branches have all respectively helped raise money for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland, Martin House, Children’s Trust, and Cancer Research UK. The scheme sees Bishop’s Move’s removal men provide home movers with donation sacks prior to their move, should they wish to donate any unwanted items to charity. On the day of the move the Bishop’s Move vans collect and store the items ready for collection.
Emma Lawley, Springfield School head teacher comments: “We are absolutely thrilled to have agreed this partnership with Bishop’s Move. The vehicle looks fantastic and I’m confident the children will enjoy using the mini bus. Access to transport is crucial for our pupils as it enables them to get out and about to wider activities such as Riding for the Disabled, swimming, sports event, day trips and residentials. The vehicle certainly stands out from the crowd and I’d like to thank Bishop’s Move for its generous support and everyone who came to the official unveiling of the minibus.”
Rob Jeffrey, Bishop’s Move Oxford Branch Manager comments: “As a company, we are firmly in the business of supporting our local communities. The investment into the new vehicle means Springfield School needn’t worry about fuel and maintenance costs for the next three years which I hope further empowers them to meet their visions, values and aims. It’s a wonderful establishment and we are proud to support them.”
Chris Marshall, Bishop’s Move Sales & Marketing Director comments: “Initiatives such as sponsoring the minibus in addition to our de-clutter service demonstrates our commitment to engaging positively within our local communities and encouraging employee engagement. We look forward to a fruitful relationship with Springfield School over the course of the next three years.”
